Re-introducing our Channel Islands Adventure Cruises!
It’s been a few years since we did a longer cruise to the Channel Islands and we’ve been getting withdrawal symptoms – especially since spending time there on our Clean Seas Odyssey and visiting every year for our work with the Set Sail Trust. With this in mind, when a gap opened up towards the end of the year, we thought it high time that we take the opportunity to schedule a proper visit once more.

Message from Nic Beck – owner/skipper of the Amelie Rose:
“I have no higher priority than the health and well-being of our guests, crews, and their friends and families – especially those who are in COVID-19 high-risk groups. I am also keen to ensure that people who have booked aboard the Amelie Rose for our 2020 season do not lose out financially from any actions I take in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Scilly Sailing – Fabulous or Fearsome?
White sandy beaches and gently waving palm trees – all set against a rolling ocean. Are we cruising around the Med, holidaying in the Canaries or cast away on a Caribbean island? No! We’re much closer to home in the wonderful Isles of Scilly. Loved and feared in almost equal measure by sailors throughout history, what is it that makes the islands such a wonderful (but nerve-wracking) sailing destination?

There is no Planet B – Our Commitment for a Sustainable World
Sustainability has been at the heart of Topsail Adventures since we started the company back in 2006 but as the years have gone by and the climate crisis has deepened, we’ve learned more about what actions we can take in order to further protect our fragile planet. As Natural England and the Environment Agency warn that 2020 is the “last chance” to bring the world together to tackle climate change we have decided to review and re-publish our sustainability policy and seek out suggestions as to how we can do more.

Everyone is Welcome – Inclusivity Aboard
Reading Rebecca Sykes’ article about sailing aboard the Amelie Rose as a woman got the skipper to thinking about inclusivity in general and how important it is to us at Topsail Adventures. It’s our view that we should ensure that the experience of sailing aboard the Amelie Rose is available to everyone and anyone, regardless of their race, age, sexuality, religion, disabilities, or gender identity and expression. With this in mind we have for the first time created and published a specific policy and made some changes to our booking documentation.

New Adventure! AR20-02 Traditional Taster Weekend
Bookings have been coming in thick and fast this year – so much so that we’re already selling out our early season Traditional Tasters. We’d hate for folks to miss out though and so with a bit of schedule jiggling we’ve managed to find space in our diaries to put on another Traditional Taster Weekend
