AR22-11 Taste of Cornwall Long Weekend
A long Traditional Taster weekend, sailing in the beautiful coastal waters around Falmouth in Cornwall
Adventure Summary
Join us for a very special Cornish Traditional Taster Weekend, as the Amelie Rose sets out for a three day cruise around the waters where she was born. This is a rare opportunity to step aboard for a shorter cruise in our favourite part of the mainland uk coastline with the possibility of a flying visit to the Mousehole “Sea Salts & Sail” festival happening on the same weekend.
From the Lizard in the West to Plymouth in the East this is a stunning section of coast – packed with pretty harbours and stunning anchorages and the longer weekend format will give you the chance to get a real taste of both the area and sailing the Amelie Rose.
Itinerary
You’ll be joining us in Falmouth on the Saturday night, where you can enjoy a meal with us and meet the other guest crew. With food and introductions complete you can find yourself a bunk, stow your gear and have a look around the boat. Before we head to our beds we’ll have a chat about plans for the following day and the adventure ahead.
With breakfast out of the way on the following morning we’ll be away early, following the wind and tide to seek out the best that the area has to offer. Our destinations will depend on the wind and tides but may include; Fowey, Mevagissy, a night up the Fal river, and any of a number of quieter anchorages.
If the weather and tides happen to fall just right for us, then we may be able to head around the Lizard to catch up with the fleet at the Mousehole “Sea Salts & Sail” festival that will be in full swing that weekend.
On the final night we’ll probably head to the Helford River (where Amelie Rose was built) which will give us a short run back to Falmouth on the final morning allowing you plenty of time to work your way out of Cornwall!
