AR21-08 Falmouth to Guernsey Milebuilder
Head beyond sight of land as we sail across the English Channel from Cornwall to St Peter Port in the Channel Islands.
Adventure Summary
Join us aboard the Amelie Rose as we set sail from Falmouth Harbour across the English Channel to St Peter Port in Guernsey. It’s over 110 miles in a straight line and we’ll be covering that in three days so this is a great chance to pile on a few miles and learn to navigate away from the sight of land under the watchful eye of a professional Skipper/Instructor.
You don’t have to be learning to sail though – it’s also a great way to experience offshore sailing and to get the feel of a longer voyage or even just to have the chance to see two historic channel ports with a bit of sailing thrown in too!
Itinerary
You’ll be joining us in Falmouth on the Thursday night. We normally meet up to enjoy a meal at the Chain Locker & Shipwrights – a bit of a local institution and known to Team Topsail as “The Falmouth Office”.
With food and introductions complete we’ll move to the boat where you’ll find yourself a bunk, stow your gear and have a look around. Before we head to our beds we’ll have a chat about plans for the passage ahead.
The exact route will depend on the tides and weather but typically we either sail a direct route to Guernsey (which may give us time to spend a day on Sark or Herm) or run along the South Coast to Salcombe and cross from there. We aim to arrive in St Peter Port as early as possible on the Sunday but you can stay aboard until 0800hrs on the Monday morning if this makes your travel back easier.

- We’ll check the availability of the berth(s) and respond via email to any queries you raise.
- Our response email will contain links to our online booking forms and details of how to pay the 30% deposit or full balance. (If it’s less than 6 weeks before the start of your adventure then the full amount will be due.)
- Fill in online booking form(s) for you (and any others in your group).
- Pay the Deposit by Bank Transfer or Credit/Debit Card.
- We’ll send you a confirmation as soon as we receive the forms and deposit.
